Lee Hyunseo
Nothing in color is random.
In fashion advertising, color is never incidental.
It defines mood, hierarchy, and brand identity.
Years of directing visual campaigns
refined her precision
in tonal balance and color control.
The turning point came unexpectedly
while working with bean paste flower cake.
Working with food pigments revealed a new challenge.
Color behaved unpredictably.
Consistency was fragile.
What began as a practical challenge
evolved into a deeper question:
Can color be constructed through principle rather than intuition?
Drawing upon the structural discipline
shaped in fashion advertising,
she began analyzing food pigments
through CMY relationships and tonal intervals.
Over time, this investigation
formed the foundation of a structured color construction system.
The research was later formalized in a published volume,
documenting the architectural principles behind the method.
Today, NAMGANG Coloring stands
at the intersection of visual direction
and color architecture —
a system shaped by professional discipline
and structural reasoning.
My color system did not begin in the kitchen.
It began in professional visual design.

Years in fashion and editorial design shaped the way I analyze and control color.

Namgang Coloring was not a sudden idea.
It emerged from years of controlling color within real production environments.
